Revision Weight Loss Surgery
Weight loss surgery is a huge emotional and financial investment. When the results don’t meet your expectations, it can be devastating.
Revision weight loss surgery is designed to address weight gain and other concerns that remain or reoccur after your initial procedure.
Why should you consider revision weight loss surgery?

If you did not lose the amount of weight you wanted to or you regained weight after your surgery, a revision surgery can trigger rapid weight loss and improve your results. Studies have shown that patients who undergo revisional surgery lose about 56 percent of their excess body weight, on average.
Improve Your HealthRevision weight loss surgery can help reduce comorbidities or illnesses that accompany obesity. These include type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension. For patients with acid reflux, bariatric surgery can also help alleviate your symptoms.
Lift Your Confidence
A second weight loss surgery can give you a second lease on life. Backed by a newfound determination to maintain your weight loss, you can be more successful at achieving your weight loss goals. Our bariatric team also provides lifelong resources to help you maintain a healthy weight.

When should you consider a revision weight loss surgery?
Examples of Issues That Could Require a Revision Surgery
There are a variety of reasons why patients seek out our revision surgery expertise, including:
Previous Gastric BandThe lap-band was once a popular method of weight loss surgery. However, studies have found that approximately one-third of patients with a loose or slipped lap band now require revision weight loss surgery. If you are unhappy with the results of your gastric band, we can now provide new surgical techniques to make your surgery more successful.
Life happens. Pregnancy, stress, and other changes in your personal life can affect your body. If you deviate from your weight loss plan or are not given the proper post-operative instructions, a revision weight loss surgery might be in your best interests.
Although the risk of complications from weight loss surgery is relatively low and very rarely life-threatening, issues can occur. If your surgery was done incorrectly the first time and is now causing your problems, we can help. Over 50 percent of our surgeries are revisional because patients trust our expertise.
